What Is Nutritional Therapy?
The science and art of improving your health
Nutritional Therapy – the science
Evidence-based nutritional science.
The key focus is keeping your body in balance through diet and lifestyle. Food choices can make a huge difference to the way you look, feel and think. Even small changes can have amazing effects. I also look at genetics, health history, environment and lifestyle choices which may impact your overall wellbeing.
Nutritional Therapy – the art
Here’s where a great practitioner can be a blessing.
I apply Functional Medicine principles to assess your health. This approach looks at you as the whole person and not just your symptoms or diagnosis (IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion). I’m looking to find the root cause. Or causes – it’s rarely just one thing. This is often due to nutrient deficiencies or functional imbalances in body systems. These systems are not discrete; they are an intricate network of connected systems and all have a profound effect on each other.
We’re all biochemically different. It’s my job to find out how YOUR individual circumstances are affecting YOUR health.
I use the 5R protocol to achieve lasting digestive health – REMOVE, REPLACE, REPAIR, REPOPULATE, REBALANCE.
Nutritional Therapy – for digestive health
Your gut can be a tricky thing to feed.
Processed foods, alcohol and sugar are well-known to cause havoc in your gut. But there are also lots of super-healthy foods that can upset your gut. Most clients are just so frustrated at not knowing which foods to eat and which to avoid – it’s different for everyone and that’s my job to find yours.
Delivering a personalised programme just for you
I provide you with a personalised programme that is tailor-made for you.
It’s like a big jigsaw puzzle for me to slot all the pieces in the right place. We work as a team, so you feel more in control of your wellbeing and are more likely to make sustainable lifestyle changes to improve your health. That’s a win/win in my book.
